Grüaß Di – Welcome

More than just a place to stay.

Whether it’s yoga in the morning, hikes in the mountains, days on the slopes or relaxing hours in our sauna – here you’ll find room to recharge.

Warm hospitality, regional delicacies and the power of the mountains come together here for a holiday that stays with you long after you’ve left. Our guests are just a short way from the mountain lifts – nature is practically on the doorstep, and with it the finest tours in the Montafon.

Together with Yogaraum Montafon, the Valbella is a place for people who don’t just look for rest but want to experience it mindfully. Surrounded by mountains, there is space for movement, stillness and energy – during yoga, out hiking, in winter sports and, of course, at our gourmet breakfast.

This is your Montafon. Your Valbella.

Stay

Local wood and plenty of room to feel at home.

We’ve used local wood in our rooms and apartments and taken great care to make sure you feel at home with us. Four apartments – from cosy Schafboden to the Chalet Apartment with its tiled stove – plus a double room and a family room with balcony and morning sun.

Enjoy

Regional is always our first choice.

Homemade muesli varieties, homemade jam, speciality cheeses and cold meats and the Montafon speciality ‘Sura Kees’ – our Valbella gourmet breakfast is the best start to a day in the mountains. Partly organic, often regional – and we’re no strangers to vegan, either.

Breathe

Yoga room & sauna in silver fir.

We’re particularly delighted to have our own yoga room: a place for yoga and mindfulness, where weekly yoga classes alternate with retreats, longer getaways and seminars. And after a day in the mountains, our small wellness area awaits – a Finnish sauna made of local fir, comfy loungers with cosy Montafon blankets, a relaxation room in silver fir and fresh spring water straight from the mountain.

Experience

There’s plenty to do in the Montafon.

It’s always the right time for the Montafon.

Skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ski touring, watching the snowflakes fall, letting the sun kiss your face, hiking, mountaineering, climbing, mountain biking, road cycling, treating yourself to fine food – and simply enjoying your holiday.

We’ve surely forgotten one thing or another – if you have something particular in mind, we’re happy to help with tips, because we love getting out and about in the Montafon ourselves.

Your hosts

Welcoming guests for over 60 years.

That makes us just a little bit proud. In 2008 we, Josef and Ruth Tschofen, took over the ‘Valbella’ and renewed it step by step – right down to the sauna area and the yoga room, which was created from a former garage. Our family is complete with our son Laurenz and our Labrador Ben, who also loves to join our guests on hikes.

We look forward to meeting you – and to welcoming you back here in the ‘Muntafu’, as the Montafon is called in our dialect.

Frequently asked questions

Why the Valbella?

In the mountain village of Partenen, we combine comfortable accommodation and regional food with Yogaraum Montafon. Here, activity and relaxation go hand in hand: hikes, ski tours and bike rides start right on the doorstep, while yoga, meditation and mindfulness make room to recover. A regional breakfast, personal hospitality and the unique natural surroundings turn every stay into a real break.

Why Partenen?

Many people know the Montafon – but only a few know Partenen. That’s exactly what makes it so special. Partenen lies at the end – or, as we like to say, at the beginning – of the Montafon and is the starting point for the Silvretta and for numerous hiking and winter sports areas. If you’re looking for peace and quiet but still want to stay right in the mountains, you’ll find ideal conditions here.

What is the Valbella gourmet breakfast?

Regional is our first choice: homemade muesli varieties, homemade jam, speciality cheeses and cold meats from the Montafon and Austria, the Montafon speciality ‘Sura Kees’ – a low-fat, high-protein cheese made from skimmed milk – honey, fresh juices, delicious egg dishes from our own hens and much more. Partly organic, often regional – and we’re no strangers to vegan, either.

Can I go on holiday without a car?

Yes! The nearest railway station is in Schruns – we’ll gladly pick you up free of charge. Locally, there’s public transport and the ‘Go&Ko’ shared taxi. And because it’s good for the environment, we give a 5% public transport discount on the room rate (excluding breakfast and tourist tax).

Is there yoga for guests who have never done yoga before?

That’s exactly what the weekly open yoga classes at Yogaraum Montafon are for: everyone is welcome to come along, try yoga and get a first taste. You’ll find all dates on yogaraum-montafon.at (in German).

Is there parking and Wi-Fi?

Yes – there’s parking right by the house, and Wi-Fi is included in all rooms and apartments. In winter there’s also a ski room and drying room with a ski boot dryer; you can borrow snowshoes, hiking poles and rucksacks from us.

What is the minimum stay?

In the Vermunt double room from one night, in the Breitspitze apartment from two nights, in the Chalet Apartment from five nights. For the other apartments and the Family Room, it’s best to drop us a quick line – we almost always find a solution.

What happens if I have to cancel?

‘Expect the unexpected.’ Let us know as early as possible – we’ll then try to re-let the room or apartment. If we succeed, there are no cancellation fees. Otherwise, the General Terms and Conditions for the Hotel Industry (AGBH 2006) apply. We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance. More about our cancellation policy.

Where do I get the best price?
